The witness hills around Tapolca are not excellent excursion destinations, but also vineyards with outstanding features.
The unique taste of wines produced on basalt soil has long been tied to Badacsony Hill, but nowadays more and more people know that the range of wines marked “Badacsonyi origin” is not limited to Badacsony Hill. They contain the same excellent wines in the Csobánc, Gulács, Szent György and Tóti mountains belonging to the Badacsony wine region.
In recent years, St. George’s Hill has become increasingly popular with the appearance of smaller and larger quality wineries and wineries.They have been farming on Szent György Hill, under the basalt organs, in the area of the Balaton Uplands National Park, on a two-hectare estate for twenty-five years now.
Their main activity is the processing of the grapes they produce in an ecological, chemical-free way into quality wines. They also make must, vinegar and verju. They also grow herbs, which are offered in syrups, teas and tinctures.
They make various jams, compotes and chutneys from the chemical-free fruits in their area. No artificial preservatives are used in the products.
Their idea is to preserve the natural functioning of the area we use, but to use its endowments and opportunities to the best to produce new and new delicacies!
In the middle of the estate, surrounded by vineyards, is their charming wine cellar with panoramic views of Lake Balaton, Badacsony and Szigliget Castle. The exclusive interior is heated in winter, cool in summer, quiet, away from noise.
It can be visited most of the year. A wide range of drinks, welcoming snacks and special, unique entertainment are waiting for the visitors!
The rooms are also accessible for disabled guests.
Parking is available right next to the cellar, in a private car park.
